Sub a player off, no new shift needed. A player is hurt, tired or needs a word? Swap them with someone on the bench right from the live game. The bench list puts whoever has played the fewest minutes on top, so minutes stay fair, and later shifts don't change. Live game, tap the player, then Sub off.
See every sub before it happens. The strip at the bottom of the live screen now shows the whole next change: who comes on and where they'll play, who comes off, and anyone who stays on but changes position. Every player shows their minutes so far, and the countdown to the next shift keeps running.
Let your assistant run the sideline. Turn on Assistants can edit and the assistants on that team get the same roster, lineup and Game Day controls you have, including subs, goals and cards. It stays off until the head coach turns it on, covers one team, and team settings stay yours. Menu, Team settings, Assistant coaches, Assistants can edit.
Tell us your rec council (optional). Sign-up and account settings have an optional "Rec council or league" field. It never blocks anything.
Before the whistle
- Starting a finished game no longer wipes it. Start Game on a game that's over offers Start a new game with the same lineup, and the old game's minutes and score stay saved.
- Only one live game at a time. If another game is running, Start Game tells you which one so you can end it first.
- A game you forgot to end won't block you. Start Game asks once whether to end it and carry on. Its minutes are kept.
On the sideline
- Half time waits for the half. The clock follows the half length you set, not the shift plan. Called it early by mistake? Back to half 1 puts you back.
- Undo doesn't get in the way. After a goal or card, the player sheet and full time sit on top of the undo message.
- Undo in the Game log updates right away. The score and list change at once.
- Playing a player short after a red card? The strength ring and the planner count only the players allowed on the field.
- Your phone closed the app mid-game? Open it again and you're back on the live screen.
After the game
- Look back at any game. Pick an earlier game at the top of Game Day to see its Full-time summary and Game log.
- Sharing the recap always works. If your phone's share menu fails, the recap is copied so you can paste it into the team chat.
Finding your way
- A refresh keeps you where you were. A live game only reopens if you had it open.
- Password reset works. The link keeps you on the set-password screen until your new password is saved.
- Feedback has a new home at squadrotate.com/feedback.
- Smoother team menu with a keyboard or screen reader.
- Under the hood. Tighter handling of team data, and the app sends less detail when something goes wrong.
